Dr Siva Nachiappan

I am currently  a  GP Partner at Eastmed Doctors
 

India and the UK 1985-1999

After basic  training in India, I trained and worked in the UK for 10 years. I completed the FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow) in 1998.
 

New Zealand 2000

I was in Wellington for one year as a Surgeon followed by Wanganui for five years doing Trauma, Orthopaedics and Surgery.
 
I became a GP in 2005, buying into Dr Fred Strange’s practice in 2010. 
 
My surgical background helps me to do complex skin cancer work.
 
I have used the polarising light skin microscope (Dermoscope) since 2005. I have had ongoing education in the use of the Dermoscope.
 
I have completed the Diploma in Dermoscopy in 2019.(University of Queensland, Australia)

I am a Southern Cross Affiliated provider and offer the following services for southern cross patients.

  • Comprehensive skin examinations (including dermoscopy)
  • Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Treatments
  • Mole Removal
  • Ingrown Toe Nail Wedge Resection

Full Member NZ Skin Cancer Doctors

I am  a Full Member of the New Zealand Skin Cancer Doctors (https://www.nzscd.org.nz/about-new-zealand-skin-cancer-doctors.html)

This means that I have 

  • undergone additional specialist training to acquire advanced skills in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer, including surgical skills that require significant further education and training to acquire. 
  • and possess a professional skill set that differentiates from regular GPs who have not completed additional training in skin cancer.
