What Does Melanoma Mole Look Like

Normal View

This is a normal view of a superficial spreading melanoma. This is flat, dark and stands out. This what I look for  in a melanoma mole.

Standing out is called an ugly duckling sign. ABCDE criteria helps as well, A for asymmetry, B for irregular border, C for two or more colours, D for diameter more than 4mm, and E for evolution or enlarging.

Dermoscope

This is view of the above melanoma mole from the skin microscope called dermoscope that I use. The mole is much clearer now and the diagnosis of melanoma is certain.
